I (Don't) Want That Kind of Love

The New Years Eve Time Square Ball Drop 2018 live interviewed many of the recognized Hollywood individuals of our day & asked them what their "New Years wishes" were. Almost every one of them (that I heard) desired to see more love/peace/kindness for 2018.

I mean, that sounds appealing and hopeful, right? Some of the most influential Hollywood icons are asking us to join together in support of world love & tranquility. We already admire their influence on America in the trend setting department, their fashion-forwardness in style, their acting careers & even personal lives, so it only seems realistic to (emotionally) invest encouragement in this as well. It also helps that their names & recognition status seem to appear more popular than many individuals with a political status (Yes, that can be a subjective statement).

As I engage in the latest covered news, my interest in this "love/peace/kindness for 2018" quickly diminishes when I listen to influential individuals speak out against our president of the United States, all while others are encouraging such slander. All for "unity." All for "love."

This is their love; I don't want that kind of love.

It is upsetting to see love & kindness used per condition or per particular individual. Worldly love is clearly distorted & skewed, yet many do not realize this because we admirer these incredible influential men & women. Some may even look past the words they are saying, whether they be true or not, & blindly agree with their statements all for the name of "love."

When I have personally behaved less than what God has called me to be, He did not slam me down or criticize me in front of others, while gathering a crowd of individuals to stand & rave with Him. Romans 5:8 clearly shows that even when we were sinners, He died because He loved. Psalm 86:15 also says that He is a compassionate & gracious God; slow to anger, abounding in steadfast loving-kindness & truth. God's love is not situational. There was and is no "selective love" with God.

This is God's love; I want that kind of love.

An old song that comes to mind is, "Hear Us from Heaven." These lyrics are so powerful: Open the blind eyes, unlock the deaf ears, come to Your people as we draw near, hear us from heaven & touch our generation.

I know God hears my prayers from earth to heaven for His love to be the only kind of love people seek after. His love will lift me (and you) above any lie or slander of this world. That love is worth speaking out for. I will not support the world's conditional classifications of love/peace/kindness. I will not go through life with blinders on, or stand with the world for "love" if it contradicts the Bible in any capacity.

I am confident God will take all that is wrong & make it right.

And, I will not digress.
